EVERY LUNCHBOX IS A CHANCE TO PUT A
SMILE ON YOUR CHILD'S FACE!
Congratulations on being a KidsLunchBoxCards parent!
You are now creating a family lunchbox tradition, and the more traditions your family has, the closer and more connected you will feel to each other! Every day, every lunchbox is a chance to love, encourage and put a smile on your child's face. Don’t miss a single lunch!
If you have time, write a simple note on the back of your KidsLunchBoxCards.
Children are never too old to be told they are loved, especially during a long school day.
Words of praise or encouragement help build a child's self esteem.
KidsLunchBoxCards can make a difference!
GREAT IDEAS AND ADD-ONS:
Creative thinking, along with a trip to your local dollar store and craft store will get you ready to really go crazy making lunch! Here are some ideas to inspire you...
One Color Lunch- Make everything in your child's lunchbox orange or red or green! Nothing says 'green' quite like a green-tortilla turkey wrap with a green apple, green pear or green grapes. Try cucumber, snap peas and even edamame. Add green M&M’s and a green napkin and the theme is complete.
(gummy worms make for a great Shrek Lunch too!)
Cut kids sandwiches with cookie cutters-Kids love shaped sandwiches!
Use cookie cutters to make fun shapes such as a heart, circle, flower...etc.
Kabob your kids lunch- Skewer that lunchmeat, fruit, cheese, veggies or marshmallows. Just go for it!
THEME LUNCHES:
Game day-Streamers in team colors can decorate the inside of the lunchbox. Add a sport napkin and sport trinket.
Princess Lunch- Princess napkin, edible glitter sprinkled all over
the lunch, princess stickers.
Pirate Lunch- Pirate napkin, chicken leg, carrot “swords”, Pirate's
Booty. Complete the theme with an eye patch & gold chocolate coins. For a healthy alternative, dried cherries, pineapple or other dried fruit on a cocktail sword or inside a small treasure chest make great jeweled treats.
Upside Down Day-A childhood favorite, breakfast for lunch! Pancakes,
French Toast, syrup, fruit, bacon, milk- create your child's favorite breakfast.
Birthday-Add a Birthday card to your child's favorite lunch, decorate
with stickers and crepe paper, and how about fruit or a sugar cookie in the
shape of your child's age?

Lunch from your Pet- A special note from your child's pet is gauranteed to bring about giggles. Cookie cutters in the shape of dogbones create a wonderful sandwich. Complete the lunch with animal shaped pasta and crackers which can be found at your local health food stores.
HOLIDAY:
This one is a favorite!Decorate the inside of your child's lunchbox for the ultimate surprise. I usually buy a selection of stuff before each holiday and add a surprise daily for a week before the big day. Local Holiday Boutiques are an EXCELLENT place to find small unusual hand made items and treats to include with your child's lunch.
Halloween-Add a freaky trinket to their lunchbox. What could be more fun than a shrunken head, light up pumpkin necklace, glow stick, rubber snake or gummy eyeballs? Perhaps a ghost pencil and eraser? Try an all orange lunch. Pumpkin seeds are amazingly nutritional and a great alternative to candy treats. Pumpkin muffins and caramel popcorn are generally low in calories. And don’t forget your halloween napkin!
Christmas-Decorate the lunchbox with tinsel and trim! Start with a
Christmas napkin and a short note from Santa, along with a gingerbread cookie or reindeer food (granola and edible glitter). Add a candy cane to make it special! (Here is your opportunity to unload all that holiday fruit cake...just kidding!)
Valentine’s Day-Add alove note from YOU! Make it a RED lunch with a heart sandwich, mini heart box of chocolates, red grapes, dried red cherrries or Hershey’s kisses. Veggies and fruits, like apples, cucumber, or jicama can also be cookie cut into heart shapes. How about a mood ring.
St. Patrick’s Day-Make everything green and add a shamrock cookie or chocolate coins to remind your child that there ARE leprechauns!
Easter-A simple color-dyed hard boiled egg and the Easter Bunny’s favorite carrot soup. Add a chirping chick, bunny socks, bunny ears or bunny pencil -the trinkets and treats are in abundance. Jelly beans or easter cookies are always welcome!
There are so many ways to make lunch fun!
